Content Policy
Last updated: March 28, 2026
1. Purpose
This Content Policy outlines the standards and expectations for all films, animations, and digital content submitted to AI Screen Awards (AISA). We are committed to celebrating creative excellence while maintaining ethical standards in AI-assisted filmmaking.
2. AI Transparency & Disclosure
All submissions must include clear disclosure of:
- AI tools and platforms used in production (e.g., Midjourney, Runway, Sora, Kling, etc.)
- The extent of AI involvement (fully AI-generated, AI-assisted, hybrid)
- Which production stages used AI (writing, storyboarding, visual generation, editing, sound, VFX, etc.)
- Any custom-trained models or fine-tuned AI systems used
Failure to accurately disclose AI usage may result in disqualification.
3. Intellectual Property
- Submitters must have full rights to all content in their submission.
- Content must not infringe on copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights.
- AI-generated content must comply with the terms of service of the AI tools used.
- Use of copyrighted material (music, images, footage) requires proper licensing.
- Deepfakes or AI-generated likenesses of real people require documented consent from those individuals.
4. Ethical Standards
Submissions must not:
- Promote hatred, violence, or discrimination against any individual or group
- Contain non-consensual intimate imagery, whether real or AI-generated
- Exploit minors in any way
- Present AI-generated misinformation as factual documentary content without clear labeling
- Use AI to create content that could cause real-world harm
5. Mature Content
Films containing mature themes (violence, language, sexual content) are permitted when artistically justified. Submitters must accurately tag content warnings during submission. Gratuitous content without artistic merit may be grounds for rejection.
6. AI Ethics in Themed Categories
For our thematic categories (AI Warfare, AI Surveillance, AI Addiction, etc.), we welcome films that critically examine these topics. However, content that glorifies or promotes harmful applications of AI without critical framing may be rejected.
7. Data & Training Ethics
- Submissions should not use AI models known to be trained on stolen or pirated datasets.
- We encourage the use of ethically sourced and properly licensed AI tools.
- If custom models were trained, training data should be legally obtained.
8. Enforcement
- AISA reserves the right to reject or disqualify any submission that violates this policy.
- Decisions regarding content policy violations are final.
- Disqualified entries are not eligible for fee refunds.
- Repeat violators may be barred from future submissions.
